Our categories of care at Stainton Lodge Care Centre are: –

Mental Health and Challenging Behaviour Care – for people who need specialised support with mental health and challenging behaviour needs.

Dementia Care – for people with a diagnosis of Dementia which is quite progressed (including Respite Care). For people in the early stages of Dementia (early on-set dementia) see our sister service Stainton Way Care Home.

 

We would like to tell you about our home and the services we provide, to assist you when making your decisions about the kind of care that you are looking for. We aim to provide first class quality care within the highest standards of accommodation to ensure that the people who choose to live at Stainton Lodge can live a fulfilling and meaningful life and be as happy as the can be.

 

We are trained in tailoring person centred care to each individual, with highly motivated and passionate care professionals within our team who work together to deliver the best care for each resident. Our team will always work cohesively with Residents and Relatives, quickly learning your personal likes and dislikes and working towards maintaining and keeping your independence and activity for as long as is possible.

We aim to provide a homely ambience and atmosphere within a comfortable and attractive setting, where our residents can feel safe, secure and cared for. Each of our suites are individual offering their own areas to spend time and relax. We have a hairdressing salon with lowered basins where our residents can go to be pampered and an enclosed courtyard and garden area which is a popular part of the home during the summer months.

 

We have a number of comfortable and well-furnished quiet lounges where our residents can sit and relax, away from the communal lounges or there are more busy areas for those who like to chat and watch the world go by.

 

We have an in-house activities co-ordinator, who works to create an interesting and engaging programme of activities and events within the home. Stainton Lodge Care Centre aims to create a vibrant sense of community, bringing residents together to socially interact and foster meaningful and lasting friendships.

 

All of our staff are compassionate and caring and receive extensive induction and on-going training programmes to ensure our standards of care are the best they can be. Our Managers are highly visible throughout the centre and always have the time for a chat and to listen to your comments.

Residential Dementia Care

 

Our Dementia

Suite provides all of the above but with more specialist care packages for people who are diagnosed with a form of dementia. Residents may be physically fit, but require a degree of specialist support from appropriately trained staff.

 

Stainton Lodge

cares for people with varying stages of dementia using up to date research and technology to offer a safe and secure environment enabling residents to find their way around with ease, comfort and independence. We also tailor a range of activities and therapies to improve the lives of people living with dementia. This service is not provided by qualified nursing staff.

 

Respite or Convalescent Care

Caring independently for a loved one can be challenging at times and it is important to take regular breaks to keep the informal carer as well as they can be, to continue their caring duties . We offer short term Residential and Dementia stays to allow carers the time to rest, assured in the knowledge that their loved one is safe, secure and being cared for by us. We are also able to make short stays available as a boost to the support network of someone who has perhaps had an incident in the home or is recovering following a hospital stay.

Both services allow the opportunity for carers and those cared for to rebuild strength and confidence and can be pre-booked at Stainton Lodge. Planned respite stays and

regular breaks can assist in keeping a person in their own home for a much longer period of time.

Mental Health and Challenging Behaviour

Stainton Lodge Care Centre also has a stand-alone 30 bed Mental Health Suite which is run totally separately from our older people’s services. This is a nurse led service with high levels of staffing. We provide a safe and appropriate environment for people living with acquired brain injury and other mental health conditions.

Residents may be physically fit, but require a degree of specialist support from our highly trained staff. Whilst encouraging independent living as much as possible, staff will support residents in day to day activities including laundry, cleaning, cooking and personal care and dressing where appropriate.

With expertise and compassion combined, the team aim to create a pleasant and secure living environment for our Residents where they can feel safe, comfortable and at ease.
